MELT: How to Live an Active, Pain Free, Healthy Life

with Shelly Pirroni and Kerrie Bodendorf, The Pilates Studio

TALK DESCRIPTION:

Erase pain and tension in your hands, feet, neck, and low back brought on by everyday stress, overuse, and age. This simple self-treatment can make your whole body feel better and provide relief from neck and low back pain, arthritis, bunions, plantar fasciitis, and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Join MELT Instructors Shelly Pirroni and Kerrie Bodendorf for an introduction to the MELT Hand & Foot Treatment. Learn how the connective tissue in your hands and feet gets dehydrated, the common aches and pains it can cause, and how to rehydrate this essential system in our bodies for vibrant health and pain-free movement.

The MELT Method is a simple self-treatment method that eliminates chronic pain, improves performance, and decreases the accumulated stress caused by the repetitive postures and movements of everyday living. It is an innovative program that’s being taught in some of the most prestigious health and fitness centers across the country.

Treat yourself to a relaxing, healthful, and educational break out session. Learn more about it at our Health and Wellness Center of the Conference.

Don’t miss your chance to experience this breakthrough self-care technique, featured in The MELT Method: A Breakthrough Self-Treatment System to Eliminate Chronic Pain, Erase the Signs of Aging, and Feel Fantastic in Just 10 Minutes a Day! (January 2013, HarperCollins)

About Shelly Pirroni

PiroiniShelly G. Pirroni is owner and director of The Pilates Studio in Agawam, Massachusetts. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Vermont in 1998 and has been a certified instructor for fifteen years in Power Pilates, Physical Mind Pilates and Stott Pilates. In a constant quest to further her own education and a focus on healing years of her own chronic back and neck pain, Shelly’s research led her to the MELT Method in 2009.  Drawn specifically to MELT’s precise applications to maintain optimal function and health, she immediately began to experience its benefits both personally and professionally, achieving significant positive results with her clients. A three-year journey led to certification as a full MELT Instructor and MELT Strength instructor. During this time, she has been inspired by the restorative impact of The MELT Method and employs its complementary techniques with Pilates and all other exercise modalities to empower clients to resolve chronic pain and restore, renew and revitalize their body, mind and spirit. Shelly’s expertise has been featured on national radio programs.  Her dedication to both MELT and Pilates is a collaborative one as she has served as a teacher’s assistant to MELT founder Sue Hitzmann and is a teacher and trainer to many Pilates instructors.

Shelly is also a certified T.R.X, Aquatic and Gyrokinesis Instructor. She has studied Thai Massage, CHI Running/Walking and meditation and incorporates these techniques within various sessions.  Her expertise in such a wide variety of programs gives her greater knowledge to be able to customize client programs that ease pain, increase strength and flexibility and achieve nutritional goals. Her focus is always on the client as an individual, resulting in a treatment or training program that becomes a personal partnership in recovery and health.

Shelly is an avid runner, having completed two marathons, one half marathon and numerous road races. She also enjoys walking, hiking and swimming. Shelly shares her passion of movement with her clients at The Pilates Studio on a daily basis.  She firmly believes that Pilates and MELT is much more than an exercise.  It is a way of life, a practice for life and when one will allow it, heightens a person’s awareness in all areas of their life.

The Pilates Studio offers private and semi-private sessions as well as small and large group classes in Pilates, T.R.X., MELT, Dance Fitness, Zumba, Yoga and massage therapy.

About Kerrie Bodendorf

BodendorfKerrie Bodendorf has trained extensively with MELT Method creator Sue Hitzmann. She completed The New Science Hand and Foot Training in 2010, Full Melt Instructor Training in 2012, Advanced Core Training in 2012, and Melt Strength Module One and Two in 2012 and 2013. Kerrie has also been a teacher’s assistant for Sue acting as a guide and mentor to many Melt instructors. Kerrie received rave reviews from 30 advanced Melt instructors for her teaching style and expertise. Recently she has completed her Zumba and Yoga Therapy Training.

Kerrie has always been interested in healthy living, eating right, exercising and keeping mentally active. She spent years working out at the YMCA and various other clubs. She started training for 5K races about 2 years ago with the Couch to 5k program. Then she was introduced to Crossfit in the Spring of 2009. She loved it so much she decided to become a certified Crossfit trainer and turned her basement into a gym where she trains clients 5 days a week. She loved the weight loss and muscle tone she was achieving but always had chronic pain in her wrists, shoulder, low back and neck.

One day while watching the Regis and Kelly show, she was captivated by the one particular guest, Sue Hitzmann. Sue was showing them some simple Melt Method pain relief techniques using mini balls and foam rollers. Kerrie was curious and ordered her treatment kits and foam roller immediately. Kerrie’s pain began to dissipate with self treatment using the hand a foot DVD and some foam roller technique videos from YouTube.

Scars are disappearing, cellulite and wrinkles are reducing, posture, mobility and flexibility are improving, pain is going away or gone! If you can make the commitment to yourself, you too can experience the amazing benefits that Melt has to offer!
