SPRINGFIELD — In addressing more than 2,000 women attending Bay Path College’s 19th annual Women’s Leadership Conference on Friday, College President Carol Leary announced the school’s newest enterprise – establishment of the American Women’s College, “the “first fully online school designed exclusively for women in the world.”
Leary said the new online college will foster leadership skills in women who live around the world from California to Bangladesh. The office at the new school will be based in downtown Springfield. She said months of planning have been involved in the new enterprise.
Leary said Bay Path believes passionately about the need to educate women about their health, their families, their communities and their countries.
In addition to the new online school for women, Bay Path will be offering several new master’s of science degree programs including one in “leadership in negotiation” and health programs. The school is also building a science facility in East Longmeadow that will prepare students to become physician assistants and occupational therapists.
The school will also offer a new master’s of fine arts degree, she said.
